8 th of March 2020

Women’s day.

What about the planet?

How and where are we in 2020?

We are still so far from same rights to women wordlwide. And true respect to women. Rapes, domestic violence, murders … So many, worldwide and no real equality yet.

And not just in some countries where you could expect it more because of not real democracies, but also in Europe.

Here in Italy there are already 15 women killed since the beginning of the year by ex husbands or boyfriends … horrific.

Today worldwide, all women stand for their rights.

And I wanted especially to remember Nasrin Sotoudeh, the Iranian advocate who now is in jail just because as a lawyer she was defending women rights, and in particular their right of not to wear compulsorly a veil on theri head. 38 years she must spend in jail. And the world is no more speaking about her but her husband and family and all of us want and demand her free!!!! The veil should be a free choice!

Nasrin-Sotoudeh ok

Another women I would like to remember today is Benazir Bhutto who was murdered. The first women Prime Minister in Pakistan. RIP. And today the big march that was held in Lahore, Islamabad … is proof that women are strong, and women have a voice, and in Pakistan they deserve all their full rights. I stand with all feminists worldwide where the word feminist means simply asking and believing in same rights men and women with enough of discriminations.

benazir

And from Pakistan also I would like to remember today the brave Malala Yousafzai whose book I invite you to read: shot by the talibans, she is fighting for the right of education for all girls not just in Pakistan. Nobel prize and corageous young women.

Malala

And from Pakistan rest in peace to Sana Cheema and Hina Saleem, two Pakistani and Italian girls murdered by their families who did not want them to live the life they wanted. RIP. Every year in Pakistan more than 1000 honor killings who stay unpunished. Even Sana father and brother will be released soon from jail. Such a shame! Things should change. Watch the movie What will people say. To understand this.

And then another hero, a young Palestinian paramedic, that most of you maybe already forgot, with time passing bye, shot dead despite wearing the doctor uniform. She was intentionally killed by Israeli military forces. A shame to remind us how much Nethanyau is a criminal and should be stopped. All the Hafrada should be stopped: that horrific Apartheid Palestinians are living with water, electricity … all limited, and land taken away, buildings destroyed, documents revocked as well as all rights … Imprisonments without any lawyers or court. Children also jailed … Such a shame. And the world stays silence. It was good that lots of Israeli people went in the streets to protest next to their Palestinian brothers, but still nothing has happened. Shame on Nethanyau.

Razan al Najjar

I also would like to remember the person who inspired the amazing movie The right to count, that I invite you all to watch because it is the true story of this extraordinary lady who let the men go to the moon with also her maths calculations. Katherine Johnson, who died this year at the age of 101 years. RIP. A true inspiration for all women.

And then there are so many other women who should be remembered today for a reason or another.

Another one I would love to mention is Nadia Murad who also got Nobel prize. She belongs to the Yazidis minority, she was abducted by Isis in her homeland Sinjar in 2014, and as a slave then managed to escape advocating now for survivors and now President and Chairwoman of Nadia’s Initiative, which is working for the redevelopment of the Yazidi homeland.

Nadia

Then also a special thought to Silvia Romano, italian volunteer still not free, she was abducted in Kenya in 2019. Still hoping to free her.

And then I cannot mention a great women Michelle Obama. An amazin person.

Michelle_Obama_(30343251332)

And then there are so many activists …

I would mention Samar Badawi, sister of jailed blogger Raif Badawi. She was given the US International Women of Courage Award in 2012 because she challenged the Saudi Arabia’s male guardianship system. Now she is still in jail and still alive. She must be free! The world silence is so heavy! Women rights there are zero because without the tutor a women cannot do anything. Samar was one of the first women to drive in 2011. That is one step forward now, but still so much to be done to free women there! And she and her brother must be free! They did nothing wrong! Women rights are a must everywhere on this planet! We are all equal!

samar ok

And I will finish with another women, politician that maybe went unnoticed: Sahle-Uork Zeudé first Ethiopia female president.

Etiopia

And my last thought goes to Syria and the people stuck at the border with Greece where as Europe we’ve lost our humanity. They have no food nor water, nor shelter. And they cannot go back. They die of cold … and Greek police are shoting them! And also fascists greek groups are assaulting them too, not just the Greek tear gases.

I saw recently a documentary you all should see:

For Sama. Syrian filmmaker Waad al-Khateab.

Here the trailer.

To understand that Assad is a criminal, and he bombed with Russia hospitals, schools … even now in 2020. And in the past also chemical weapons … Jailed and made people disappear … Tortures, killings with no respect for no one.

The world should all condemn him for crimes against humanity but apparently his money have more power, despite being full of blood. And what Erdogan is doing with Syrian refugees is also horrible.

I know I am missing so many other names from Greta Thunberg to the journalist Rula Jebreal who did a moving speach at Sanremo 2020 about the violence against women, being her mother the first victim … To Rosa Parks …

To all of you I say: let’s all speak up. All of us. We are more than 50% of the population worldwide. We cannot stay silent! And we must speak also for the women whose voices remain unheard.

You might think that is a matter that does not concern you: you are wrong.

And last word about the movement #metoo. So tough subject, but we all must speak. Always.

Because we are not inferior. We are EQUAL and WE DESERVE SAME RIGHTS FOR EVERYTHING AND SAME RESPECT no matter the color of our skin or our religion … We are all equal on this planet! Equal to men, equal!!!!!!

I leave you with this stunning video about women power. Recharge your batteries and let’s go back to the world for more women power!

Big hug to you all sisters worldwide. You will never be alone.

And a special last thought also to all transgender women who feel themselves as women. Also for them same rights and respect!

Lgbt rights are also such a difficult subject still for too many countries. I will always stand for your rights too. Because as Rosa Parks was remembering us we must stand (in her case remain seated) for what is right, no matter what. Because what is right is right even if there are not yet laws to state it.

Big hug to you all. Stay strong. Stay focused. Dream and live! And yes we can!

Take care you all.

8 th of March: women first?

Two days ago: WOMEN’S DAY. But what is it? What does it mean now in 2019?

What does it mean today to be a FEMINIST?

I guess the best reply is in a sign that has been shown in a march:

women 8 march

This is the point: to be a true feminist means recognizing that a women is a person, with own value and not because she is someone’s mother or daughter or sister or wife. This is the essence of everything.

Because the definition of a women is that a women is a person!

with same rights as a men!

Same dreams of career, self growth, goals as a man.

A women does not dream just a family and children! And some do not want children or family and it is ok as well, or want a family but work and career too.

This is what should be understood by everyone! We deserve freedom to chose our own life and if we want a career and a family as well, it should be possible! No one should sacrifice their own life and future and studies! Ambitions, dreams must not be killed by anyone. And in this freedom we all deserve worldwide, there is also the freedom of chosing who to marry. Freedom for our destiny, freedom of indipendency, economically and not only economically. The possibility to live alone even if we haven’t found the right partner, or the possibility of living together with someone before getting married to get to know each other and see compatibility.

And stop to child marriage!

As adults women deserve same rights and freedom as men. Same!

And discriminations must stop!

As well as growing women playing with dolls and boys with cars. Dance for girls and football for boys! This is rubbish!

Each person should be free to play and do what they do like!

There are still too many prejudices and discriminations.

But above all worldwide women should be free and in charge of their own life!

And one last word for an orrific inhuman practice: infibulation. Worldwide we must stop this orrific violence against girls. Inhuman and prohibited but still done.

If you go on Wikipedia you can get enough info if you do not know what is it this abomination.

WE ALL HAVE THE RIGHT AND THE DUTY TO STAND FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, no matter what.

And we all must fight for a real and truly EQUAL WORLD.

True equalilty and no gender discrimination.

And another last note about the LGBT community. Each person deserves respect, and must be recognized in same dignity.

The struggle is for all countries where people must fake their own identity and love because otherwise they would be prosecuted and even killed. Shame!

We are in 2019. And all people must be accepted and not judged.

WE ARE EQUAL IN RIGHTS AND DIGNITY AND RESPECT we deserve.

And whoever considers himself superior because of religion or sex, or sexual orientation or country of origin, or birth place or status or color of the skin is simply not right and not human.

HUMANITY is recognizing we are brothers, all at the same level of dignity and respect that we must receive. No one is superior, no one is right and the others are wrong. Each person has their own way in this life, their own pathway. Different pathways, but no one should ever judge! There is no right or perfect religion, there is no right or wrong sexual orientation, there is no right or wrong color of the skin …

Discriminations must stop! Now!

And the 8th of March is to remind us all that we really all deserve true equality, not just women, but all.

Let’s make this planet a better place by stop judging and starting understanding, stop preaching and start listening and then maybe advice or speak but remembering that things like religion or sexual orientations are private matters, and no one should ever been judged or discriminated for that.

And stop seeing women in the house and men at work! The house is for both! Both cooking, both cleaning, both growing kids. These prejudices about roles are ancient!

So the 8th of March is for all of this, and not just for one day, we must stand up for what is right every single day starting from our own life, in every gesture or thing we do.

Women WE DESERVE RESPECT AND SAME RIGHTS AS MEN! SAME!

All the best to all of you, in all your personal or social struggles.

WE ARE IN CHARGE OF CHANGING THIS WORLD NOW. WE ARE WRITING THE HISTORY NOW!

Take care

See you soon

Barbara

2019 New Beginning

Happy New Year to everyone! Happy beginning of 2019!!!!

I truly wish this 2019 will be for everyone a turning point year.

I am turning 40 now in January on the 9th. Yes, just numbers, but still … now is the time for me to start living and stop just existing.

Life is now, life is what is happening while we are busy making other plans.

We must take risks, face challenges … live.

Going out from our comfort zone is difficult because it is scary. The unknown is scary. But who wants to live with regrets of what if? What if?

Making mistakes, falling … are part of the journey.

We all must become the best version of ourselves.

People think the competition is against the others: actually is withing ourselves. Our own doubts and fears and worries to be won.

A beautiful sunny morning. Sunshine. What we all need.

And we are all called here to make this planet a better place, so stop the hate, stop the judging. Nobody is perfect, and we are not here to change the others, but to accept everyone and love them for who they are, making everyone realize that there is no right or wrong, no good religion or bad religion, no saints and no sinners, no pure and impure people. We all have same dignity, same rights and deserve the same respect.

Men and women are the same, we all are the same. And we all must go on in the struggle to give everywhere on earth same rights, same dignity same possibilities of chosing our own life to everyone. A women will never be an object, and just a wife or a mother. Same dreams, same careers, same rights to follow our own dreams, decide the life we want to live, who we want to live it with …

And gays or transgender people exist. The LGBT community cannot be ignored or cancelled. They have same rights to be, to dream, to live, to build a rainbow family, where family is and always will be a place of love, a place of the heart where two or more people just share part of their life in a unity that knows no limits of geography, no limits of gender. Real true equality because love exists and deserves to be.

God created each of us, and who is born gay deserves to live the life they want and feel.

Stop pretending to fit everyone in boxes society would like to keep. No one can be put in a box, or marked with just a label. We are all different individuals with our own story, mind and heart. Unique. A masterpiece.

We all deserve to be let shine our own light.

Life is now, life is for everyone because we all belong to this mother earth. This planet we must also take care of.

We are all one big family called humanity. If people will not get this, there will always be wars. We are all bound because we are all children of the same Creator who gave us the freedom to live and be, ourselves, with our gifts and talent to be used, not wasted, with our heart to love, be loved, feel.

We are here. We are alive. Let’s live for real. Not imaging a life that is not there, but creating and making the life the way we feel it and want to live it.

Freedom for everyone. Same rights. Same respect. Same dignity. We are all the same.

Let us make this 2019 the year of unity for this planet, to help who is less lucky, to help who is in need. Because there will never be walls able to separate what God has created: humanity. Only one race, only one planet.

Let us all embrace, a big hug together because we are all the same, all human, alive to live and love.

Life without love is just nonsense. The purpose we are here for is to love all mankind, all Nature and wherever we will be we will always be home, because our home is this planet.

Let us make it a true home for everyone.

A big hug to all of you.

Shine, and do not let anyone steal away your smile. We are alive: the first and main reason to be going on shining. Let our soul sing a song that is the true energy of life. Being alive.

Bloom. Share light and

Love is what will be able to fight darkness and hate. Love is the only weapon that truly wins.

Love is and always will be the answer for everything.

Take care you all

Be blessed, and always walk in the light, shining with the candle of love burning inside our soul. Give love to everyone and it will come back in unexpected ways, because love is the magic of our existence.

Shine. Give. Life is a giving. And joy will be in the giving always. And the more love you give the more you will have in your heart, because love is infinity and who lives of love lives forever.
